Our Story
Once upon a time, the planets and the fates
And all the stars aligned
-TS
Michael and Sarah met when they were both living in the suburbs of Washington DC.
Both of them were trolling the dating apps looking for new people to hang out with. They matched almost instantly and he reached out. She said she and some friends were going to a bar that night to celebrate fourth of July and maybe do karaoke and he should come!
They clicked pretty quickly. The type of chemistry and intuition you only dream about. Mere months later they were basically living together, unable to bear any length of time away from the other. It was borderline unhealthy but it worked for them.
Ten years later they still would rather spend time together than apart. They have never spent more than 5 days apart and hope to never have to.

Shortly after becoming official,
Michael and Sarah moved to Richmond Virginia...
with Sarah’s bestie, Jess (who unfortunately will not be able to attend their wedding due to a schedule conflict). Apartment hopping and dealing with setbacks brought them even closer during their time in Richmond. They really started to get a feel for what it would be like to build a life together. They even got their first cat!
In 2019, due to an injury Michael got at work and rising rent prices in Virginia, they made the risky decision to move out west to Utah. After a few months living with Sarah’s mom, they finally got their bearings and their first apartment in Utah! A small one bedroom compared to the luxurious townhome they had been renting in Richmond but
a home of their own.

Shortly after settling in, covid hit. Jobs were lost, hope was scarce, times were scary. But the two of them remained relatively unscathed. To this day, neither of them have ever had Covid!
By the time the pandemic started dying down, Michael and Sarah found themselves working together at a Circuit Board manufacturing warehouse. Everyone warned them about couples working together but, as previously mentioned, they would rather be together than apart so working in the same building was the perfect situation for them.

Right around eight years together Michael decided it was time to put a ring on it. Over the years they had been hitting financial roadblocks one after the other and living paycheck to paycheck to survive. Not optimal conditions for saving for a ring. But Michael made it happen.
In early November 2023, Michael and Sarah planned a vacation with their good friends Taylor and Jess (A different Jess than before, but just as important) in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. They rented a cabin and planned a weekend of fun activities. Little did Sarah know, it was all a setup for the proposal Michael had been planning for months!
Michael asked his family to fly out to be there when he proposed, and they ended up staying in Gatlinburg to spend some time the couple after she said yes. Could have been suuuuper awkward if she said no, but she didn’t! This proposal was years in the making and Sarah actually told Michael at one point that if he had asked her even six months in to their relationship, she still would have said yes. Sometimes you just know, and she just knew. You can’t argue with chemistry and the cosmic fullness they feel when at each other’s side.
The wedding had been pushed back a few times from random setbacks but they finally set a date at the beginning of 2025! It’s been a long engagement, but that gave the happy couple plenty of time to work out exactly the kind of event they wanted to have to show and celebrate the love that came so naturally and the beautiful life they worked for years to build together.
Now, as the queen herself, Taylor Swift, said, “It was the end of a decade, but the start of an age.” This marriage has been in the works for a good ten years. A decade of learning everything there is to know about one another and going on silly adventures. A decade of laughing and singing together. Now their time as best friends and lovers is not coming to an end, but being empowered by the promise of forever. They will embark on the new era of being married with as solid a foundation as you can get.
Now all that’s left to do is tie the knot! Hopefully you don’t cry; it is a pretty romantic story. We all know Sarah will. Sarah always cries…
